The Simple Journey
Natural bedding, without the greenwashing circus.
Hi, I’m Lily, founder of I Sleep Simple.
I’ve spent the last decade in the natural and organic bedding world, and I started this company because buying “healthy” bedding started to feel like detective work.
Customers kept telling me the same thing: they wanted cleaner, more natural stuff in their homes, but every label said something different.
Natural. Organic. Green. Eco. Pure. Clean.
Pretty words. But they do not always tell you what is actually inside the mattress, pillow, or topper you are bringing home.
A product can have one organic layer and suddenly the whole thing sounds like it was lovingly grown in a field by woodland creatures. Meanwhile, you are stuck trying to figure out what you are really sleeping on.
So I built a place where you do not have to guess.
I Sleep Simple is my curated corner of the bedding world. I sell what I believe in, and I leave out the rest.
Why simple?
Because customers deserve straight answers.
I focus on natural fiber fills: cotton, wool, kapok, and buckwheat. Many of our products use certified organic cotton and wool, including GOTS‑certified options. These are the materials people have slept on for centuries, before foam, synthetics, and chemical flame retardants showed up. I know these fibers inside and out, so this is what I sell.
Most of my products are handcrafted in New Brunswick, New Jersey, at White Lotus Home, a family-run natural bedding manufacturer my husband Marlon owns. I Sleep Simple is my own brand inside that world: simpler choices, personal guidance, and a focus on natural fiber-fill bedding instead of a thousand random options.
If something is organic, I say it. If something is natural but not certified organic, I say that too. If a product is firm, I am not going to pretend it feels like a cloud. If something is handmade and needs time to be made, I tell you up front.
No mystery materials. No fake green fluff. No mattress-store pressure.
Just honest materials, handmade quality, and simple guidance from someone who lives and breathes this stuff.
A little about me
I came to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union in 1979, just before I turned five. That is where my respect for real materials and honest work started. You do not grow up in an immigrant household taking either one for granted.
Before this, I worked as a real estate broker. Later, at White Lotus Home, I fell in love with the idea that what you sleep on can be both beautiful and honest. I Sleep Simple is where I put my own spin on that: fewer choices, more clarity.
I Sleep Simple is a woman-owned small business. I am also a mom of two, which means I absolutely understand wanting better materials in your home, and I also understand being tired. Nobody wants to spend three nights researching pillow fill unless they accidentally became me.
That is why I Sleep Simple exists. Because what you sleep on matters — but buying it should not make you lose sleep.
